Kindling
I use Amazon’s original/classic Kindle for all my reading needs. If a book isn’t available on Kindle, I don’t read it. Kindle has really changed how I read and how often I read. I’m a fast reader, so I used to struggle with the load of books I had to carry in order to keep myself entertained on flights or vacations. Now, I carry Kindle. I don’t have to worry about finishing one book of a series and not having the next; I can buy whatever books I need directly from the Kindle. It is awesome.
It is unfortunate, in my opinion, that Amazon has not marketed the Kindle more effectively. For example, Amazon should be providing a social networking widget that automatically updates with the user’s Kindle reading status. Since they don’t, I manually do the task via GoodReads, a reading social network site. The widgets for GoodReads are below. Note that many of the books that were added historically are not on my Kindle, but anything I’ve read in the past year resides on my Kindle. Actually, there is one exception to that rule. Books that I have to read for class (they’ll be obvious) are provided by LFGSM, so I don’t have those on my Kindle.
