We bought a new refrigerator last week. Our old refrigerator still works in theory, but it’s having issues where some areas of the fridge part will freeze things and other parts are barely cold enough…and it’s been making some odd knocking noises…and it’s over ten years old, which is the point at which Consumer Reports says we’re better off getting a new one versus attempting a repair.

The new one is a bottom freezer. I’m really looking forward to having it. That having been said, I’m feeling some guilt over the fact that a usable fridge is likely going to get recycled into scrap. I don’t know why, but I’ve always been inclined to feel guilt over this sort of thing…where something usable is no longer going to be used. I blame The Velveteen Rabbit. Anyways, I posted on Freecycle already, but the only response I’ve gotten is of the sort that I don’t entirely trust that the person is going to show up. And, if I don’t get the delivery people to haul it away, I’m not sure that we could.

So, I figured I’d post here as a last option…if anyone who sees this is interested and can pick up the fridge tomorrow evening, you’re welcome to it…but I need to know for sure that you’re coming, because I’ll be SOL if I don’t get the delivery people to take it away.

As a side note, I have no idea how this process works. Assuming the delivery people do take it away, do I need to transfer all the food over while they’re there? The window of delivery is eight hours long, so there’s no way I’m going to pull it all out of the fridge in advance. Also, how fast does a new fridge get cold? Do I need to invest in a giant ass cooler to fill the gap here?

It’s a little dented on one corner. I have the docking station, a Sena case (the one specifically designed for the T3), and possibly a few other accessories. I can also include a burned CD of licensed software that I will no longer have a use for. Anyways, it looks like they’re going for around $60-100 on ebay. I figured I’d post on here, in case any of my friends or friends-of-friends or what have you might want it.
