Things I did over the holiday weekend:

• Caught up on e-mails
• Bought and installed a new mailbox, as the old one was faded and near death, and the mounting board under it had rotted out. Also was industrious and decided to paint the mailbox post (with the leftover paint from getting our house’s trim painted) and put on a new number sign on the mailbox post that is reflective and easy to see at night. (You’re welcome, delivery drivers.) It worked out well, too, that the cheapest available mailbox (at $11) was grey metal that matches our house perfectly!
• Ran a 5K. Didn’t get my best time, but didn’t get my worst time either. Most importantly, I didn’t feel exhausted by it at all and am barely sore from it.
• Played Iron Dragon, Upwords, and Time’s Up with Moo and DH
• Played 7 Wonders with Moo and Mr. and DH at their house, which they had kindly let us use to shower after running that morning
• Went to the house of other friends to drink and chat away the afternoon while eating grilled food (seriously, the best grilled chicken breasts I’ve ever had). Finished off like 3 bottles of their rum…just parts of the bottles though, not entire bottles. I owe them rum.
• Typed in our rail itinerary into TripIt and sent out the itinerary for the whole trip to people who should have it
• Did necessary Europe shopping, for things like comfortable capri pants, fast-drying undies (so we don’t have to pack so many undies) and plug adapters
• Cooked sausages and eggs for breakfast
• Cleaned up the iguana bedroom
