Not quite a dropout, just a drop

My new manager has earned my undying support. πŸ˜‰ She went to HR, Finance, and a number of other teams on my behalf trying to get this school thing resolved. She even found a loophole in the wording of the agreement that she was going to help me slide under if the funding wasn’t found. On Tuesday, she told me that they would most likely be able to cover one class for the term but not two. Today, she confirmed that to be definite.

Now, of the two, I think the Negotiation class would be more useful. But, the Negotiation class is offered several times a year. The Effective Leadership class seems like it will be kind of fun, and it is only offered in the third term, because it’s a core class and that’s when you should be taking it. So, I’m sticking with Leadership for now.

Two of my friends from class were thrilled for me. πŸ™‚ I do have some really good friends in the class, which makes me happy. One benefit of being Class Rep (kind of like the benefit of being Registrar at a Mensa event) is that everyone knows you. πŸ™‚

  1. Congrats!

You know how I’ve been laughing that my “unrepaired” knee was complaining about a lack of attention and would have to visit the surgeon if it didn’t shut up?

Well, it didn’t. Last night (at bowling…sigh…I hadn’t even put on my b/shoes yet!) I was returning from the ladies room, walking normally when my right knee suddenly EXPLODED!!! White pain! Felt as if someone stabbed me with a knife & kept ripping up and down. It hurt So Bad that I was nearly passing out, felt real shakey and nauseous! I managed to hobble, slowly and with great agony, to our area. I spent the evening WATCHING everyone bowl, with the blue-ice pack from my lunchpail on my knee. I downed some XS Tylenol (always carry Tylenol). Today, I’m icing and using ONE crutch to help me balance, but I can put my weight on it. (Doesn’t help that it’s single digit wind chill today, so it takes 10 min to dress/undress to go outside. πŸ™‚

Wouldn’t you know it? I’m betting Dr. K’man is going to get some more insurance money.
