I’m pretty sure that my two big front teeth have moved. When I compare digital photos, it doesn’t look like they have moved at all. Still, I can tongue the place where they meet and feel a difference. I think there’s less overlap between them. It’s easier to get the floss between them now, too.
They darn well better be moving. I still can’t use them for biting, so they better be accomplishing something up there. I tried biting into lunchmeat earlier today, and just the simple biting to tear a piece of lunchmeat was ouchy. I ended up just tearing it up with my fingers and chewing it with the back teeth. Biting into little mini cakes (Hostess 100-calorie pack cupcakes) is feasible but slightly painful.
On the other hand, I haven’t taken any ibuprofen today. I’ve taken my usual antibiotics and that’s it. Before everyone hops in to say that the lack of ibuprofen is why the fronts hurt, they’ve been having this same sensitivity even while I was doped up on Lortab. The only reason I haven’t taken the ibuprofen today is that we’re out of it. I need to run to the store to buy more.
Speaking of floss, I poked my upper extraction site with a floss tip accidentally. It didn’t bleed or anything, and it barely even hurt. I think that’s a good sign. I rinsed thoroughly afterward (using the 1/3 H2O2, 2/3 H2O rinse, which Scott likes to call H6O4) just in case.
I also have joined a message board for adults with braces on ArchWired.com. And, I created the below ticker to keep track of how long it’s been since Braces Day:
