Improvement

I did a quick calculation or two with my biking stats. In biking speed, I’ve gone from 4mph on average to 7mph on average. Admittedly, I don’t think I have significant data yet. I made a note to myself to make up a spreadsheet when I have a chance that will help me maintain stats, including notes on things like leisurely riding versus goal-oriented (e.g., to get to the store and back) versus athletic riding. The 4mph stat does include a couple of trips that I’d categorize as leisurely.

It also seems like my heart rate is not getting as high as it used to, which is another sign of good things. Whereas I used to spend at least a third of the ride in a “high” heart rate, I’m now spending most of the ride in target or low, with only a few minutes in the high range.
