For anyone who is curious, we are waterlogged but not flooded, nor are we likely to be. There’s some severely soggy ground near us, but no actual flooding. The last time Gurnee got severely flooded, we weren’t affected at all. As I told someone yesterday, we’re in the high mountainous part of Gurnee.

We tried to go volunteer to help fill sandbags for the parts of Gurnee that might flood, but they shut down operations at 8pm. After Scott got off of work, we changed clothes, had dinner, and headed over, but we got there right at 8, so no luck. But, that’s the best kind of volunteering really…we get all the joy, and we didn’t get dirty.

If they still need us, we’ll try again after he gets off of work today.
