PanaPlan

My flight to Panama for the work thingie leaves at 5:40am. I need to be at the airport no later than 4:30am. (Somewhat thankfully, I change planes in Houston, so I’m classified as domestic for this first leg.) I need to thus leave home at 3:30am. I took a nap this afternoon for about four hours in prep for this. Yet, I am sleepy now, which is odd considering. I’m also somewhat sick, which sucks. My throat hurts.

My original plan was to power through the night and stay awake, hence the nap. However, I was figuring that I’d need to be at the airport 90 minutes early instead of 60 minutes early, which means I would have likely left home at 2:30am to be safe. So, now I’m regretting this plan, and I can’t adjust it at this point because I intentionally put off packing so I’d have something to do that would keep me awake.

I’m not sure that I’ll really get to see anything of Panama aside from the resort. I’m shocked that they did this…I find it cruel…but work seems to have booked every waking hour that we’re there. To me, this begs the question as to why they’re flying us to Panama if they’re not going to let us see any of it. We might as well have had the conference in the US and saved us all a load of time and money.

So yeah, right now I’m bitter about the trip a bit…but I’m sure I’ll feel better once I’m there and not agonizing over lack of sleep and such.
