Busted Axe

We went to BGS* at the plus yesterday. We brought our GH controller with us, because we were going to…

Okay, hold it right here. I don’t know how to refer to the house belonging to two people who are both our friends and who I don’t want to reference by name (as I don’t know that they’d want me to). So, for the purpose of grammar simplicity, I’m going to dub them the Tees, much as I’ve dubbed the Moos and such. Now back to your regularly scheduled blogging…

We’d made arrangements to go to the Tees’ house after gaming to play GH in 2-player mode. Neither we nor they own a second controller, so we’d brought along ours. Everything went according to plan until we left their house at around 2am or so. While driving back up to Gurnee (they live in Palatine), I heard an odd rattling, but I thought it was just something buzzing with the vibration of the car. I had some groceries in the back still, as well as games and poker chips…so buzzing wasn’t really out of the ordinary. But, when we pulled into the driveway and I ousted my DH** from the car, he noticed that my car was sporting a long black tail. We’d closed the trunk on the cord for the controller without realizing it, and the cord had been dragging behind us for the 20 or so miles we’d driven. Needless to say, it was in tatters, and the controller is no longer usable. Anyone care to guess at how long it took from the point of us waking up this morning until we had a spiffier (read: wireless) controller? šŸ™‚
