For the geeks who know such things…

We have a problem with our wireless router at home. If I plug a computer directly into the cable modem, I get connection without issue. If I then put the connection from the cable modem into the appropriate spot on the router, the wireless LAN is found by the computer just fine (i.e., it’s broadcasting), but the internet cannot be reached. If I plug in directly to the router (not wireless), I have the same issue. This problem just started on Monday.

Is this a likely thing to happen to a router that we’ve had for probably around 2 years? Or is it more likely that Comcast has f-ed with something? Has anyone else using Comcast run into a similar issue recently? I’m just trying to figure out if my first course of action tomorrow should be to buy a new router or if it should be to pursue issue with Comcast to see if they changed something…

PS – I’m at EWR currently. Waiting on flight, which is delayed (of course). Airport has WiFi (yay!).
