Promotion!

Yay! I got a promotion today! It was actually effective a few days ago, but my manager’s wife just had a baby and so he’s been out of the office doing new baby things and finally got around to checking mail and finding out it was effective today. Actually, both he and someone else on our team had babies this week, which has meant that I’ve been going insane with stuff to do, especially because of Super Rushed Project X. I’ve been handling Super Rushed Project X almost single-handedly because everyone who would normally work on it is either out with baby or out because of Super Secret Customer Y during this week, and Super Rushed Project X didn’t become real until this past week. Super Secret Customer Y, of course, cannot be discussed with Super Secret Customer X, meaning I’ve spent much of the week coming up with creative reasons that people are not available. Yay for creativity.

So, now I need to send a summary e-mail about the status of Super Rushed Project X to all of the VPs and other honchos involved with stuff for Super Secret Customer X. Wheee…
